Bernie Glassman is a world-renowned pioneer in the American Zen Movement and a leading creative figure in socially engaged Buddhism. He is the founder and co-spiritual director of the Zen Peacemakers. He has extended Dharma practice from the meditation hall to the arenas of social service, business, environmental stewardship and conflict resolution. Zen Peacemaker Order Coordinator and Assistant to Founder: Rami Mukyu Efal
Rami was born in Israel and has lived in the US since 2002. He has been a student of Buddhism with the Mountains and Rivers Order since 2006 and with the Zen Peacemaker Order since 2013. He studied inter-cultural conflict transformation at the School of International Training in Vermont, is a facilitator at the New York Center of Nonviolent Communication and has volunteered in hunger, community art, hospice and in Palestinian/Israeli peace projects. He spoke on peace-building on NPR, at the Warsaw Museum of Modern Art and at the United Nations Headquarters in NYC. Rami is also a published and exhibited visual artist.
