Tell us a bit about how your group was concieved
GMZC is in the White Plum Asanga lineage of Maezumi Roshi. It was formed when Shishin Wick, Roshi moved to Colorado to form a Zen Center.
How many members do you serve? 50
Tell us about one exciting project, program, or other offering you are currently working on.
Shinko Perez Roshi is offering a number of programs on Zen of the Sacred Feminine which is an activist program to bring attention to the Eco-crisis, international conflicts and other conflicts. We also offer Zen meditation retreats monthly.
How do the Three Tenets inform your social engagement?
The Zen of the Sacred Feminine bears witness to the patriarchal destruction of the planet and offers positive action to correct the imbalance. Also we house rescue animals at our Center and bear witness to the consciousness of other species.
What is the most meaningful challenge your organization Faces?
Finding the financial resources to support our activities and temple
