Zen Peacemaker Affiliate
Colorado Peacemakers
To manifest the three tenets via service to the broader Colorado community.
Tell us a bit about how your group was concieved
Colorado Peacemakers is a new iteration of the maha sangha Colorado affiliate of ZPI. We have renamed and reorganized the group a bit but our purpose and leadership under Paul Gyodo, Sensei of the Eon Zen Center has not changed.
How many members do you serve? 50
Tell us about one exciting project, program, or other offering you are currently working on.
Our first step is to hold a member meeting on May 17. We have not had a member meeting in a few quarters so it is an exciting opportunity to reconvene and re-energize the group. It is our hope that, stemming from that meeting, we will identify new opportunities for service to the community and begin to plan our annual retreat for the fall.
How do the Three Tenets inform your social engagement?
The Three Tenets are the backbone of our engagement with the broader community. Members participate in an annual street retreat in Denver, volunteer at local foodbanks and shelters, and otherwise seek opportunities for service in the spirit of Zen Peacemakers International.
What is the most meaningful challenge your organization Faces?
At present, our challenges include simply relaunching our presence on the Hive site, a public-facing website, social media accounts, a member invite/distribution list, and other tools of the ZPI affiliate endeavor. We are excited to be getting back on our feet.
