Below is a message from Roshi Eve Marko:

Dear Friends,

For over 50 years, Bernie brought us together. Jews, Buddhists, Christians, Muslims, bakers, child-care workers, musicians, teachers, construction workers, everyone. No one was excluded.

And we loved coming together, sharing views and histories, celebrating how different we were from each other. His was a big, big mandala.

On February 17 is our opportunity to come together once again to remember Bernie. You can support this event by clicking above to let us know you’re coming rather than showing up without notification. In this way you’ll get more details about place, time, parking, etc., and this will enable us to welcome you in Bernie’s spirit (though without a cigar).

Eve Marko

We look forward to welcoming you,

Christopher Panos, Chair & Rami Efal, Executive Director

  1. Gate, gate, paragate, parasamgate, bodhi, svaha! Homage to the Roshi Bernie on his passing, condolences, too, to his community. Not only that, but he was a mensch.
