In October 2019, an interview was coordinated by Sabine Bartlewski with Sami Awad and ZPI Board Member Roshi Barbara Salaam Angyo Wegmüller at the Zen house in Bern, Switzerland. Sami Awad is known for founding the Holy Land Trust in 1998 to promote Palestinian nonviolent resistance to the Israeli occupation. Holy Land Trust initiatives include training workshops, participation in local nonviolent campaigns, and seeking increased media coverage for nonviolent resistance.

The conversation that is shared touches on deep questions about peace, the world and the future. The following media file is a link to an edited version of that interview created for a podcast by Ricardo Martins Batista. The podcast includes excerpts of Roshi Bernie Glassman’s talks from youtube videos, with background music from Krishna Das. Permission was received both from Bernie Glassman’s wife, Roshi Eve Marko, and Krishna Das to use both the excerpts and music throughout the recording. We are grateful to have received the permissions to share this Podcast, as we hope it continues to motive our community of peacemakers.
