Find peace in Srebrenica

Can listening help to heal the wounds of a war? Does anything change if we forget the black pages in history?  That is the question with which an international group of Zen Peacemakers travels to Srebrenica and Sarajevo. In this bustling city, the tension seems to rise earlier rather than later. The stories of the participants in this special bearing witness journey take us along the pains of a recent past, along ethnic and religious backgrounds and offer opportunities to break the circle of suffering. Together they go to “the places we are afraid of”, such as the mountain of the sharpshooters, the Sarajevo market, the Dutchbat hall in Srebrenica, the secluded villages with Serbian Bosnians, the endless rows of white stones in the cemeteries. Frank De Waele, organizer of Zen Peacemakers Europe, explains how we process by going to these difficult places and how we can look into history in order to heal.  (Translated using Google and revised.)

Vrede vinden in Srebrenica
